I have a lot of paint chips on my hood and they are getting annoying. I'm sure some are wondering the best way to fix them. I wanted to start a thread with links on how to repair them easily.

This topic has been covered here also:
http://www.elantraclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1119

Richard (F1Guy) recommended a few products that would help such as Mother's Paint Repair Kit and Langka Paint repair kit. The Langka kit is used in the below link from Detail City.

Here is an example of a repair done by a guy at DetailCity.com

Product Tested @ DetailCity.com

Where can you buy this?

I would first check with your local car part store. If not, it's available online!

Langka.com

Superior Car Care

PremiumAutoCare.com

I would recommend the Langka kit as the instructions are clear and to the point! They give good tips on how to use the product on the Langka website. But what you really need when using these kits is PATIENCE! smile.gif

Also remember, the kits that are mentioned here are used when touch up is applied. If you have a minor scratch (surface scratch in clearcoat), this can be easily fixed using a coumpoud like Meguiars Scratch-X or Poorboy's SSR's. Better results when applying them with a ROB. (Random Orbital Buffer)

I will keep searching and will add more links to this page. If you have any to share, send me a PM and I will add them here!

Not the way I would do it! But hey, it's your car! rofl.gif

Fastback, did you check the one stop shop in here?! Your answers should be in there.

If you have a buffer or good arms, you can use Meguiars ScratchX.

i was planning on going to the dealership today to get a paint pen and just touch it up to prevent rust until next month when ill have more time to fix it.

any advice would be greatly appreciated as i cant stand imperfections like that on her. Thanks

Any touch up should suffice with these kits...

I went on a spending spree at the local auto place and thought i'd try Meguiars ScratchX compound.

I applied it after a wash with Meguiars Gold Class wash.

I applied it to a small area around the passenger door handle with a terry towel It was starting to get a few light scratchs that were beginning to really annoy me. They are very light, but im fussy.

Once I applied the compound I left it for around 5minutes before taking it off with a fresh terry towel...

I noticed it got rid of a majority of the light scratches but a few remained

I was wondering if I applied the compound long enough to work correctly??
