And now you understand why technicians don't WANT to do warranty work. They get screwed.

as a tech....warranty work sucks hairy balls. but if thats the only thing you can do to make money. I'll take it.

haha i should have taken pics of the flooded out hd we had in the shop. our guy had to take EVERYTHING out, the airbag and ENTIRE harhness are all in one. So there is no seperate floor harhness its goes up into and behind the dash (see touring photo) onto the floor all the way to the rear and then UP the C-pillar to the roof. It was an insurance claim so he charged them 16 hours...he got it done in about a day and a half. crazyness!

Kinda looks like my Fiero
Though since it only has 2 seats not as much needs to be removed smile.gif

Currently it sits with even more removed - wire harnesses pushed through the firewall and all

What's the likelyhood of added squeaks and rattles when you have to yank the dash out?

as long as you put all the bolts and screws back in...very little. Hyundai is pertty good about putting insulation (fiberous backing) to plastic pieces that may rub.

Too bad Acura doesn't. One of the more common complaints are squeaks/rattles on everything from ~2006-up

thats a damn shame....

we even have special cases full of this kind of stuff, so that if we do find a squeak we have something to fix it ASAP. believe it or not the koreans are very very picky! we had engineers come into our dealership (Universal hyundia in orlando) and they took several used cars out....we got them back in the shop and were made to replace crazy things. one car we had to replace the fan motor becuase it "sounded weird" ok dude thanks for the money.

I have to commend Hyundai for their efforts to reduce rattles. My XD, FD and our new GD have been pretty much rattle free!
