I've got a 2016 Elantra GT Base. In other words, it doesn't have the high dollar entertainment system (or whatever it's called). I do, of course, have the standard USB port. The Owner's Manual is as clear as mud as to what devices it will accept. I've tried my Amazon Fire tablet, and that's a no-go. I also have an Apple Mp3 iPod Shuffle. On my former Elantra (2010 GLS Sedan) it would play one group of songs, and that was it. Will it adapt on the 2016? Or do I need to use another device?

Thanks for the help

It should take any mass storage device (e.g. flash drive) that's FAT32 formatted (most of them are formatted this way out of the box). As for specific file types I'm not sure, but chances are your files will be supported.

You might need to organize your files in a particular manner for the system to recognize the files on your device. The most commonly required method is a folder called MUSIC in the root directory. Inside that directory you can probably have folders organized however you like.

In case anybody is curious, I bought a SanDisk 128GB Flash Drive from Amazon, received it yesterday and downloaded some music to it. I tried it out on my Elantra GT, and it works great. Problem solved. biggrin.gif

He is absolutely correct. Make sure to organize your file to avoid system confusion with your device.
