This past Friday and Saturday I took two days to go to the races and traveled approx 350 miles to see races at Southside Speedway in Richmond Va., Summit Point Raceway in Summit Point, West Virginia and Winchester Speedway in, where else but, Winchester, Va. The point is that the Summit Point race was held on a two mile road course and spectators could camp free. While I was there I got to talk to members of the National Datsun 510 club who drove their 35 plus year old cars hundreds of miles to camp out Friday and Saturday night and partake of the vintage races as well as some liquid refreshments of various types. On Saturday the Pinto club came in with 11 pintos ranging from a completely redone minature version of the Starskey a Hutch Ford (Pinto) to one that looked like it had been used as a dance floor at sometime or other.

Fact is that these guys and girls were of varied age and income and all had driven a distance to get together and enjoy the weekend and a like interest in their favorite brand of auto. I wonder if any of you have considered a like activity for the Hyundai club at a similar type place for a weekend of fun?

Yes and that's why I'm driving to PA near the end of June smile.gif unless you're talking about advertising some big get-together which would be even cooler but how to go about getting that done I don't know

It's a bit of a micro-meet and certainly not a set-in-stone Club-sanctioned activity, but my band's 6th annual Pig Roast is in July. It's up on the Club calendar, and last year we had myself (duh), sarge and slowgls out there. We're hoping to pick up a couple more folks this year... like slows_gurl and maybe a couple others. It's a great time, but it is in MI, which is not around the corner from VA.

I most likely will be there unless the overtime dries up at work . I borrowed money from my friends Chase , Visa , and MasterCard and they want their money back . They are pretty cool about it and don't want me to pay it back right away so they accept smaller amounts per month . A great bunch of guys they are smile.gif
Aside from that issue I should be able to make it .

I have thought about this! I have a whole parking lot next to my house in Central Massachusetts - enough to hold over 40 cars. I even have the option of having a meet up at a hyundai dealership about 20 miles north of my house... If anyone is interested I'd love to host something with the dealership and from there would could do a ride from there to my house for a blow out cookout. But I'd need a definite amount of people before I'd do something like that. I'd hate to buy tons of food and beer and be the owner of all of it lol smile.gif Let me know if anyone is interested and if so we can get something rolling. My wife and I will be having our child at the end of July so it would have to be before that.

We used to have regional meetings almost seasonal...
Or usually a group of guys would get together and help each other do installs

And later take pics and drive some twisty back roads...

There are some videos of thes on the clubs youtube channel..

Someone post link? I'm on my crapberry.

I cant decide if I should advertise the meet or not. Facebook lets you advertise your page. I'm not sure though. it's alread up to 60 people if you include the people that say maybe

I went to this meet/party, and it was great! I have been to many different car shows, meets, and cruises, and this was the best meet I have been to. A big thanks to Mike and his wife, and everyone who contributed to putting this thing together.
