Alright...I know at least four (maybe five) other Hyundai owners who aren't on this forum but would be willing to do a meet sometime. The PNW seems to lag when it comes to car meets and I've been wanting to do a Hyundai meet since I got my first SF in '04. It hasn't happened yet.
I'm thinking somewhere in the Portland Metro area maybe around mid-March. Hopefully we'll luck out and get a dry 'teaser' weekend. At this point I'm taking roll call. Who's interested in joining?

Hello all-
I just bought my son his first car-a 2005 Elantra XD2 hatch w/125k.
I assume the previous owner has not replaced the timing belt, water pump, pullys or acc. belts.
Can someone recommend a reputable shop or mechanic in the San Fernando valley/Santa Clarita valley areas?
Someone I can trust to do the job right and for a reasonable price?
Thanks!

West Coast KDMThe West Coast KDM website is up and running. West Coast KDM is a club and community for all Korean car enthusiasts (Hyundai and KIA). We are trying to establish local groups to have good turnouts for our events. We wanted to widen the scope and make it available to all KDM. The site also contains a forum but we are not trying to steal people away from this forum in any way. We are just trying to provide a more local, club type, community for enthusiasts. It will help people find a group to get involved with and participate in events. The site is new and not complete yet (please be patient) but the forum is fully functional (to my knowledge). If you are on the west coast it is the place for you to find a group or start a new one. So check it out
http://westcoastkdm.com/. We are also on FaceBook and Twitter.

I have a free pair of tickets to the L.A. Auto Show.
If you want them (and can make it to the show), send me a PM. I will be going today (Saturday, 11/20), so if you can make it today, I can hook you up there at the L.A. Convention Center!
First one to PM me gets them. Let me know if you can make it today or not, and I will arrange accordingly. Otherwise, I can send them to you (but we can discuss that later.
$12 general admission, or free? Answer seems obvious to me...

The L.A. Auto Show will be November 16-30, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Would anyone like to make a day of it, and carpool to the event? Admission is $12 ($10 in advance online).
I'm thinking this would be a good chance for an impromptu meet of sorts, plus it would save on gas/parking.
We could meet at designated locations (say, the Fullerton Park-n-Ride at the I-5/CA-91 interchange for Orange/Riverside/south L.A. Counties), and then climb into one or two cars and go.
Those who live in areas to the north could possibly arrange your own rendezvous locations.
Anyone interested?

Well, here it is, moving week.
On Thursday, I take possession of my new apartment, and I have a couple of large items which cannot fit inside an Elantra.
Fridge, queen-sized bed, a painting, a desk, a chair, and two tables. Everything else, I can pretty much transport myself. Anything else you carry will just make my move that much quicker.
If there is anyone among you in the greater Los Angeles area willing to volunteer your services, I will provide pizza and beverages. Please PM me for details. Thanks!

How goes it people? Just bought a 09 Elantra GLS. As this is my first posting, I'm looking to see if there are SD members willing to do a meet & greet - talk shop - get some food and possibly cruise around. If anyone is interested, feel free to post up a possible place, date and time.

My name is Michael from SIS International, a market research company. We are conducting focus groups in West LA among Hyundai owners in Mid October - $125 for a 2 hour session on your opinions. Please send an email to recruitment@sisinternational.com with your car model, year, and "LA Car Study" in the subject field to see if you have a qualifying car model. Please also include your phone number so that we may contact you directly.
Alternatively, we have a pre-screener survey where you can let us know what vehicle type you drive so that we can see if you qualify

Okay, since they just held a meet in the East, I figured we on the Left Coast (and neighboring vicinity) might want to attempt one ourselves. Please choose a date that works best for you (I deliberately left Halloween weekend out). If there's enough interest, then we'll see where we go from there!
The poll closes on August 29, so get your answers in as soon as possible!

Want to be in a Car Club that has connections with sponsors and has monthly meets in your area?!?
Well my friends at www.hyperautoclub.com are just that!
California chapter is getting back on the map with recent meets like the April 10th Puente Hills Hyundai Meet, and the comming up May 23rd ARK Performance meet. They have personally asked me to recruite more elantras into the club because there are mainly tibbs and gens, but its all Hyundai love, so please give the site a visit and join hyper auto club in time for the ARK Performance meet and sport your EClub stickers and represent!

I hate being the only Alaskan on the forums. Believe it or not, there are an ass ton of Elantras in Anchorage. I just don't know how to advertise that there is a saweet community out there that can help them on issues. Anyone have any ideas? or know of anyone who has an Elantra that would like to form a meet? This would be cool. I'm kind of losing interest in my Elantra sadly and need some motivation lol....
