yesterday it was $1.84/gal. at quick trip for 87 oct. regular. I am suprised it is this much. Around Atlanta it is usually cheaper than most parts of the co
untry. I was able to buy at costco for $1.72!!!!!! This post has been edited by snova44: Jan 30 2005, 02:38 PM -------------------- A proud member of the club.

QUOTE (southpawboston @ Jan 30 2005, 05:17 AM) PB is short for Pacific Beach (obvious i know, but thought I'd clarify). Yep, it's in San Diego.. About 15-20min North of downtown I guess.. Only drove down that far once.. Too crazy! lol -------------------- "Dusting is a good example of the futility of trying to put things right. In the Cincinnati area, yesterday I paid $2.04 for plus from Speedway, but in northeast OH, I saw it was $1.80. Its the same old story, when OPEC says they will not increase output the price climbs and stations have their finger on the increase button faster than you can blink, even though the gas they have in their underground tanks are at a lower price, but when oil decreases, they are slow as mud in cutting. Sound familiar to banks and their rates, huh, whatever favors the bank they are quick to act and anything that favors the customer, its not a priority to change. Post #2, whoo feels good to get back in the saddle.

Everyone says gas is so expensive in California, but I just saw the movie "Sideways" and the characters are in the California wine country, two hours north of LA, and in one scene you see the price of gas being $1.71. Is there really a $.50 north of LA? Here in NY you gas is probably around $2.00 or $2.05 in NYC and it's around $1.95 an hour outside the city. What's the deal?
p.s. - "Sideways" was probably filmed anywhere from a year to 18 months ago and I really don't see a reason why they would change the price just for the film. Is the story supposed to take place in the mid-90s? -------------------- I do things the correct way, once and I'm not gonna fix it when someone else screws it up. Wiping my own ass is the only thing I'll do over and over again until it's done right.

Sideways was I thought a very good film. It showcased some of the best parts of CA. Wine Country! Yes, gas is a lil cheaper up there vs. down here, but I think the main thing is realizing that it was filmed over a year ago. The film was set it in present day.
It's funny, you start here and gas is high, drive south a twidge and it's a lil cheaper, then gets more pricey. Drive north and it gets cheaper, then further north and it's pricey again.. Then again, just driving around here you can find a 20 cent difference in price. It's still pricey tho.. I'm just glad I got 35mpg on the trip, and can get around 24mpg in town.. =) -------------------- "Dusting is a good example of the futility of trying to put things right. In the Tampa Bay area it's $1.80 at Sam's Club, up to $1.90 most other stations.
