I'll be anxious to hear what your thoughts are on the Santa Fe. I do love the way they look!

It would have been nice to try them back-to-back, as the two dealerships are neighbors(same owner), but I didn't have enough time. The only really annoying part is having to go through the sales peoples to get the keys. After that, I'm quite willing to give them a chance to bid for my business, but they only get one. Try and take me for a ride and I'll have no remorse getting a deal directly through the lowest bidding sales manager.

I did obtain the dealer cost for the base Santa Fe through an online service, and surprisingly, there's not that much profit: only $1200, less than 5%.... so I know that there's not much wiggle room. Compare that to the $2600 profit on the Equinox.... I really don't know what kind of Kool Aid the GM salesmen are drinking!

Absolutely love our Santa Fe! Bang for the buck is hands-down incredible. It's good looking, has a bit of pep, decent on gas for a car it's size and the luxury features are phenominal. I keep thinking I'll say "Fe, make fresh cup of espresso", and bam, man walks up to car in butler's suit with folded white linen over his are asking 'one lump or two?'

We've had ours for almost 7 months and don't regret it for a sec. This 'plunge' was well worth it.

Oh yeah, we opted for the 2.4. Read Consumer, Edmonds and Auto on the flat line and awkward mated 2.0t-auto tranny.
