OK, I know the Alpha and Beta (I and II) were EGR-less and that always made me happy. But I have not looked at the Theta closely to see if there is an EGR valve on it or not.

Anyone know before I go searching?

Nothing, it just came up in conversation earlier today. Since I see Hondars with busted EGR systems daily, I made the comment to one of our resident Hondar-Humpers that works here that Hyundai was able to get SULEV emissions ratings without using the dreaded EGR setup and that is one of the reasons I have always liked the Alpha and Beta as it's one less thing to go bad and need repaired.

EDIT: it also looks like the exhaust mani does NOT have a cat in it either.... making a header an honest possibility with this car.

i too hate egrs, such an unecessary hole.

on focuses (focii?) some people welded theirs shut since there was no vital sensor telling ecu if it was working or not... on my bro's buick however tha daggone thing wouldnt even drive but he had an actual valve i think not just extra pipe

Oh no, I'm so sorry... the correct answer is The Moops.

EGR's are a 100% failure rate. Every single one fails. EVERY.
