Hey guys, new to the Forum. Just bought a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GLS about 2 weeks ago after driving Hondas my entire life. Overall I am happy with the car, few things I wanted to ask about. First, the trim around the shifter is really scratched up. Im wondering if anyone has experience replacing these. In Hondas I know most trim is removable, but doing a quick search I didnt find anyone selling just the silver piece, instead the whole console. My other question is about the hole in the front bumper. From what I understand it is to tow the car, so mine is missing. Is this something that can be easily purchased in the color of my car, and where? I want to thank everyone for your input in advance, and if I can be of any help please let me know.
**UPDATE WITH PICS** Thanks guys for your input and quick responses. Can you just "pop" the silver piece off? I'm a little wary of painting it, but maybe getting a dash kit to cover it. I'll have to keep researching.] And here is the hole in the from bumper if there was any questions about what I'm talking about. Aaaannnddd, just for kicks, I'll throw in my car from a few years back. Used to love working on cars, now I don't like it very much. Too busy with work and home life, I'm just looking for a reliable, decent looking car to get me from a to b. No drops, no rims, no tow hooks hanging out of the front bumper. However, I do enjoy the passion people have for making their cars unique to them so I'm not knocking it, but been there, done that. welcome to the here !
every car i have owned that ring can come out and can easily be painted..if you want it chrome chrome mirrory... junk yard is probably best bet for a realistic price without buying whole center console. as far as the tow hook bolt on thing... i'm not sure if i've ever seen it on any aftermarket sites.. perhaps rockauto.com ? or- you can be trendy and put in a neo-chrome folding tow hook for around $35. probably not your style huh? http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEO-CHROME-T2-RACI...%3D300885675542 -------------------- Oh no, I'm so sorry... the correct answer is The Moops.
The packaging clearly stated '100'. I'm short ONE luft balloon. |

Welcome Jared.
Sorry don't know of a source for those parts short of checking with a dealer. Do post up some pictures of your ride when you can. -------------------- |

Welcome to the club! I would definitely check with the dealer. Since you just bought the car, they may just throw one on no questions asked. Was it a certified pre-owned?
For the silver trim, have you considered painting it? Probably the cheapest option, unless you luck out and find one in good shape at a junk yard. Personally, I would just paint it though. -------------------- Please consider helping keep the club online and independent. Donate here to help the club.
