I see you went with CAI, why not keep the Ram intake, but get rid of the air box?

Thought about that (routing the CAI snorkel to the stock "ram"), but I really wasn't convinced that it's a true "ram" intake. It wasn't fully exposed to the outside and looked as though the engine temp would probably still have an impact on intake temp. The Apollo routes to the bottom and points forward under the vehicle. This way I know for sure I'm getting cold air. Besides, from what I've read the gains from "ram" intakes are dubious unless your going 150mph plus. Rather have the cold air and have guaranteed gain.

Yeah, Mitch got a hold of me with a PM. Wasn't even aware that the COTM was going on again. Thanks to him for giving me the heads up.

Well, you do have a point. Say the tube reaches the under hood temp of 150 degrees (hypothetically). If you're sucking in that temperature air through the stock "ram" you're starting at an intake charge temp of approx. 150. But if you pull in external air (say at 65 degrees) then maybe the 150 degree tube only gets it up to 110 before it hits the cylinder. You are gaining in HP the difference between 150 and 110, what ever that is.

That's my logic anyways.
