Does anyone know what the maximum amount of material that can be safely removed from the Beta 2 non-cvvt head?

Shouldnt be resurfacing most Hyundai cylinder heads. IF you choose to do so, try not to exceed ONE MM. Shaving heads down brings up Compression Ratio and you enter the "dreaded pinging territory" and may possibly create too many hot spots inside combustion chamber. Sadly the heads are made to be a one-time use, but then again I cant comment on why and what drove the pencil pushers to make that decision ! LOL. Yet, HMG has squeezed as much power available in as minimalistic design as possible in most of their engines.
Sadly doesn't give tuners much wiggle room.
I know that's NOT the answer you were looking for. sad.gif

Just asking because I'm going from the Beta 1 head (10.3:1 compression) to the Beta 2 non-cvvt head (10:1 compression) because it flows better. I'll be doing some minor head work. And using matching 240 duration cams. I really don't want to lose compression, which is why i'd like to shave the head.
